Norway's A-Ha proved their country had more to offer popular music than null points in the Eurovision Song Contest. Morten Harket, Magne Furuholmen, and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy (as well as being teen idols) combined to make some very powerful synth-orientated songs in the '80s, such as 'Take On Me' and 'The Sun Always Shines On T.V.'.

A-ha acquired an impressive array of music stars as fans, including Graham Nash, Leonard Cohen, Adam Clayton, Pet Shop Boys, Sarah Brightman, and Coldplay.

The band decided to quit in 2009, but A-ha had a fine last few years - they played the Berlin leg of Live 8, also appeared at a huge gig in Oslo in front of 120,000, and recorded new albums 'Analogue', in 2005, and 'Foot Of The Mountain', which was released in 2009.
