Alley Cat Allies advocates for the wholesale transformation of our nation’s animal control and shelter system—a system that most Americans may expect or falsely believe to be protective of all animals. Through legal and legislative initiatives, Alley Cat Allies is working to publicly expose and end outdated and cruel shelter practices. Our new shelter practices and accountability section is full of information about why we need increased transparency, accountability to the public, and government oversight of our nation’s animal control pounds and shelters.
