Despite the Millennium coming and going without the apocalypse feared by many, Nostradamus still continues to fascinate, and in this book by Peter Lemesurier we are given the author's interpretations on what might happen in the first half of this century - if we don't take heed and care more about our fellow man and the planet. We are given a glimpse of war (involving a clash of civilizations, specifically Muslim against Christian) and environmental destruction side by side. Hell on Earth in other words. 'Nostradamus: The Next 50 Years' is not a sensationalist attempt at cashing in on the Nostradamus legend, but an intelligent appraisal of what the French seer was trying to say, in his covert way. If you're looking for a book telling you the world is going to end soon then you'll be disappointed! Some of Lemesurier's interpretations are somewhat debatable and tenuous, but he acts as an impressive impartial observer just telling the reader how it is - to his mind.
