Spider-Man was created in 1962 by the legendary Stan Lee, and was a super hero who gained his powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider, when he was the studious Peter Parker.

Spider-Man can be considered alongside Batman and Superman as the most popular super hero of all.

Spider-Man [2002]

The 2002 film, 'Spider-Man', was a superb interpretation of Stan Lee's classic comic book character - helped undoubtedly by Lee's heavy involvement in the film.

Good casting included Tobey Maguire as a convincing and sensitive Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Kirsten Dunst as the sweet-natured love of his life, Mary Jane Watson, and Willem Dafoe as the schizoid Norman Osborn, aka Green Goblin.

The special effects were stunning - even by modern standards, especially when the Green Goblin was hurtling through New York City causing mayhem.
