NORMAN WISDOM Norman Wisdom was one of Britain's most popular comedians of all time, and was even big in Albania! Particularly famous in the 1950s and 1960s, through films featuring his gormless character Norman Pitkin, Norman Wisdom made a catchphrase out of "Mr. Grimsdale" - the name of his boss. Wisdom also had a fine singing voice, as displayed on the well-loved song, 'Don't Laugh at Me ('cause I'm a Fool)'. Born in London on February 4th, 1915, Norman Wisdom died in Ballasalla, Isle of Man, on October 4th, 2010 at the age of 95. - Paul Rance/booksmusicfilmstv.com. |
