The
Two Ronnies
Along with
Morecambe & Wise, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett as
The Two Ronnies are the most famous comedy duo in the
history of British TV.
Helped by good
writers, including Spike Milligan, for the serial, 'The
Phantom Raspberry Blower Of Old London Town', The Two
Ronnies was must-see entertainment in the '70s and '80s.
Wordplay was a
vital ingredient for the show, including some of the most
popular sketches of all, such as 'UNEX ("You any
eggs?")' and 'Fork Handles'. Also important were the
song and dance routines (the boys loved dressing up in
drag), 'news' items, Ronnie Corbett's monologue, and, of
course, the guest stars.
Ronnie Barker
died on October 3rd, 2005 - just after a period of the
BBC putting together compilations of the best of The Two
Ronnies, entitled 'The Two Ronnies Sketchbook', which
were fronted by Ronnie B and Ronnie C, who introduced
some of the show's classic sketches.

Rance.
