DERBY COUNTY Brief History

Derby County's most successful era was in the 1970s, when the Rams won their only League Championship titles to date. Firstly, under Brian Clough and Peter Taylor in 1972, and secondly under Dave Mackay in 1975. Some of British football's finest talents represented Derby County during the '70s, including Charlie George, Roy McFarland, Colin Todd, Archie Gemmill and Bruce Rioch.

Earlier in their history, Derby County won the F.A. Cup in 1946. They were the first club to win the F.A. Cup after the Second World War.

Derby moved from their old Baseball Ground stadium to Pride Park in 1997. A statue dedicated to Brian Clough and Peter Taylor is on display outside the new ground.
