Gene Hackman

Gene Hackman (1930-    )
Californian-born Gene Hackman is one of the most respected of post war actors, and found success fairly late, when starring in the 1967 biopic 'Bonnie And Clyde'.

Hackman's star was well in the ascendant, when he won an Oscar for Best Actor, when playing offbeat detective Jimmy 'Popeye' Doyle in 'The French Connection (1971)'. Gene Hackman has since gone on to appear in some of the biggest blockbusters of all-time, including 'The Poseidon Adventure (1972)' and 'Superman (1978)'. Gene also won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar as Little Bill Daggett in 'Unforgiven (1992)'.
