Spencer Tracy (1900-1967)
Spencer Tracy was unarguably one of the finest actors of his generation - appearing in such major films from the mid-1930s onwards as 'A Guy Named Joe (1944)', 'Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944)', 'Father Of The Bride (1950)', 'Judgment At Nuremberg (1961)', and the two films he became the first actor to win successive Best Actor Oscars for - 'Captains Courageous (1937)' and 'Boys' Town (1938)'.

Tracy's relationship with Katharine Hepburn was legendary, as was their on-screen chemistry in eight films, including 'Woman Of The Year (1942)', 'Adam's Rib (1949)', 'Pat And Mike (1952)', and 'Guess Who's Coming To Dinner (1967)'.

The greatest tribute paid to Spencer Tracy came from Laurence Olivier, who once said, "I've learned more about acting from watching Tracy than in any other way."
