Music of The Simpsons

The Simpsons Music - The Stars:

Lisa Simpson is the musical talent in 'The Simpsons (together with the late, lamented Bleeding Gums Murphy)', but Homer Simpson's work with The B-Sharps shouldn't be forgotten, though as a group they were really covered by Barney Gumble! Homer has quite a plaintive little voice. His brief rendition of 'The End' by The Doors was a tear-jerking moment, as was his psychedelic rendition of Billy Joel's 'Uptown Girl'...for different reasons. Marge, unfortunately, is no great singer, but she is a trier. Apu is a quality performer, and he was wasted at the Kwik-e-Mart.

Notable appearances from music celebrities included Barry White, who kindly saves the snakes from a whacking, and used his impossibly deep voice to coax them to safety. Paul & Linda McCartney talked with compassion about their vegetarianism, Spinal Tap were...er, Spinal Tap, and U2's Bono and Homer - well, the Irish ledge didn't like Homer did he?

Sideshow Bob, voiced with relish by Kelsey Grammer, probably has had the best singing role to date. His ego being massaged by a cunning Bart, he sang all the songs from Gilbert & Sullivan's opera, 'The HMS Pinafore' - at the request of Bart, who was merely buying time to save himself.

Here's a list of some of 'The Simpsons' finest work on CD, available from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk....excluding inferior musical guests such as U2, Sting, Tony Bennett, Elton John, Paul McCartney, etcetera!
