Pet Shop Boys are one of the most successful duos in pop music history. Consisting of vocalist Neil Tennant (born 1954, in North Shields, Northumberland) and keyboardist Chris Lowe (born 1959, in Blackpool, Lancashire), Pet Shop Boys are one of the most inventive of pop acts, and their music can best be described as melodic, dramatic, synth-orientated dance music, with interesting lyrical content.
This British duo have worked with, and/or had their songs recorded by, the likes of Kylie Minogue, Elton John, Liza Minnelli, Dusty Springfield, Boy George, Electronic, and Patsy Kensit's Eighth Wonder, and have remixed music by such diverse acts as David Bowie, Blur, Yoko Ono, and Rammstein.
Pet Shop Boys were among the many British music legends who performed at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
