New Hope International (Magazine)

New Hope International Vol. 13, No. 3

Well produced mag. with a good balance of familiar poets and writers to new ones. Best work by Neil Henderson, Roger Harvey, Noboru Veri, Colin Nixon, Gerald England, and even the great Sylvia Plath is here. The Japanese haikus are particularly good. Best poetry mag. in terms of quality poetry that I've seen in a while.

Review Supplement to the Above Mag.
Even a bigger review mag. than last time! It contains loads of new names, and various reviewers, including Bill Wyman's latest, Mandy Smith, or maybe a different Mandy?!

New Hope International Vol. 14, Nos. 3, 4, 5

More poetry & prose from NHI. '3' has a cover depicting the Berlin Wall coming down and again a lot of 'new' poets. Most noteworthy work is by Thomas Kretz, Krista Dickson and the plethora of haikus! Fine artwork. '4' is an interesting history of Gerald's publishing efforts, with poems and comments from past contributors, including Andy Darlington. Non-publishers who don't appreciate editors problems should certainly buy '4'. '5' kicks off with a deceptively barbed poem by David Wilson. Curiously angled poem by Steve Sneyd, and Norwich Convention. Other poets include Emerald Cleve & Terry Lee.
