Fantastic Four

As beautiful as Jessica Alba is as Sue Storm (when she's not invisible!), it's the lovable rock guy The Thing, aka Ben Grimm, played by Michael Chiklis, who steals the show, with his lovable demeanour, his "it's clobbering time" catchphrase, and vulnerable persona underneath the gruff voice and scary exterior. There's funny/sad moments when The Thing's four huge digits can't punch in the numbers of a phone, or hold a glass without breaking it. 'Hornblower' star Ioan Gruffudd is the leader of the 4, carrying the title Mr. Fantastic, aka the man who can elongate any part of his body, Reed Richards. Newcomer Chris Evans is Sue Storm's cocky brother Johnny, who can burst into flames and fly at the same time, as the Human Torch. The villain they take on is Victor von Doom, played by Julian McMahon, who looks evil throughout! Von Doom is pretty much a template for comic book baddies.
