John Junkin, one of the most recognisable faces on TV in the 1960s and 1970s, died on March 7th, of lung cancer. He was 76.

Junkin, a gifted comedy actor and scriptwriter, appeared, and worked with, some of the most famous names in British showbusiness, including The Beatles in the film, 'A Hard Day's Night', Morecambe & Wise, Ronnie Barker, Spike Milligan, and appeared in popular comedy shows 'The Goodies', 'Terry And June', and 'Till Death Us Do Part'.

In 'Eastenders', John Junkin was impressive as a straight actor, and he was one of the great talents of British radio and TV.
