Yvonne De Carlo, who died on January 8th in
Woodland Hills, California, was famous as Lily Munster in hit

Yvonne (real mame Peggy Yvonne Middleton) was born on September 1st,
1922, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. After moving to

usually making the most of her sultry Latin looks playing
alluring cameo roles. Eventually, in 1945, Yvonne got her first
lead in 'Salome Where She Danced'. She then
had a successful ten years or so, and in 1956 appeared in
the epic 'The Ten Commandments', where she played
Sephora, the wife of Charlton Heston's Moses. In the late
1950s and early 1960s, Yvonne guest
starred in popular TV shows such as 'Bonanza', 'The Virginian',
and 'Burke's Law'. 1964 saw the launch of 'The
Munsters', and immortalised Yvonne De Carlo in the role of Lily Munster - the
scary, but sexy, matriarch of the Munster household. This popular
show ran for two years.
