The 2006 World Cup in Germany
|
|||||
The heroics of Angolan goalkeeper Joao Ricardo, and dreadful Mexican finishing, saw the Africans gain their first point in a World Cup finals match. Mexico also hit the woodwork twice, with Barcelona's Rafael Marquez thumping a low free kick against the post, in the first half, and Omar Bravo seeing a second half effort also hit a post. Even when Angola's Andre Macanga was sent off for a second bookable offence, with eleven minutes left, Mexico couldn't break through to score the goal, which would have surely won a game they dominated. - Paul Rance/booksmusicfilmstv.com. |
