The 2006 World Cup in Germany

The end of the road for the Soca Warriors, as a Brent Sancho own goal and a late Nelson Cuevas goal, following a neat one-two, gave Paraguay their first win of these finals, and sent Trinidad & Tobago home - regardless of the England-Sweden result. Paraguay deserved to win the game, and had a goal wrongly disallowed in the first half, with T&T's 'keeper, Kelvin Jack, also having to make a couple of fine saves. Leo Beenhakker's side only once seriously tested Paraguay 'keeper Aldo Bobadilla, who pulled off a fine save from a Cornell Glen header in the first half. T&T had a lot of possession in the second half, but they were restricted to taking shots from long range. - Paul Rance/booksmusicfilmstv.com. |
