Spain kept their 100% record going, despite fielding a virtual second choice team. The Spanish dominated the first half, and it was only Saudi 'keeper Mabrouk Zaid who was keeping the score down. The winning goal came, when Gutierrez Juanito powerfully headed home a beautifully delivered free kick from Arsenal's Jose Antonio Reyes.

In the second half Saudi Arabia were unlucky not to equalise, going very close on a couple of occasions, but once again they head home after another disappointing World Cup finals.
