Carrie-Anne Moss (1967-    )
Canadian actress Carrie-Anne Moss rose to fame after appearing as the character Trinity in the three 'Matrix' movies.

Named after a Song

Born on August 21st, 1967, Carrie-Anne grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia. She was named Carrie-Anne after the catchy 1967 song of the same name, which was made popular by The Hollies.

Models Inc.

Aged 20, Carrie-Anne went to Europe as an aspiring model, but soon began to concentrate on acting. She graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1988. Carrie-Anne returned to Europe and got her first big break when she appeared as a regular in Spanish TV drama series, 'Dark Justice', in 1991. The first season was originally filmed in Barcelona, but the second was shot in Los Angeles, where Carrie-Anne also appeared in the play, 'Outward Bound', at the Hudson Theater.

Carrie-Anne also appeared in many TV ads, and her acting experience was quite broad by the time she was chosen to appear in 'Models Inc.'. A spin-off of the popular American soap opera, 'Melrose Place', Carrie-Anne used her own modeling experience to play the model Carrie Spencer in the series that was shown in 1994-95. The early to mid-'90s also Carrie-Anne secure parts in some of the most popular TV series of the time, including 'L.A. Law', 'Baywatch', and 'Due South'. Ironically, Carrie-Anne played a character in a Canadian TV series called 'Matrix' in 1993.

Matrix Stardom

Though not a household name when cast as the leather-clad Trinity in the cult 1999 movie, 'The Matrix', Carrie-Anne made the role her own. In love with Neo (played by Keanu Reeves), Trinity was a cool character, and has become one of the great fantasy film heroines of the past twenty years. Carrie-Anne reprised the role of Trinity in 'The Matrix Reloaded' and 'The Matrix Revolutions' in 2003. Other Carrie-Anne film appearances include 'Chocolat', 'Memento', and 'Fido'.

Carrie-Anne Moss married actor/director/writer Steven Roy in 1999, and they have three children - two boys and a girl. Carrie-Anne likes to keep her private life private, especially in regard to giving out information about her children.

Carrie-Anne's Respect for Trinity

A vegan, Carrie-Anne has stated that she would never play another character like Trinity again. She explained that: "I wouldn't play another character like Trinity out of respect to her and respect to the film. I don't want to be the leather-clad, kicking-butt girl with another name."
