Stereophonics Brief Biography Stereophonics originate from the small South Wales town of Cwmaman, and began life as the trio of Kelly Jones (guitar/vocals), Richard Jones (no relation to Kelly) (bass), and Stuart Cable (drums). Cable would die tragically young in 2010, aged just 40. Performing since 1992, the band's big breakthrough came in 1998, with their first UK top five single 'The Bartender And The Thief', which came from their acclaimed album, 'Performance And Cocktails'. They have had a consistent run of hit singles and hit albums ever since, despite Cable leaving the band in 2003. South American Javier Weyler, who played with Stereophonics at Live 8 in 2005, replaced Stuart Cable, until Weyler himself was replaced by Jamie Morrison in 2012.
