The Wars of the Roses was a war fought for the possession of the English crown, by the houses of York and Lancaster. It lasted from 1455 to 1485, ending with the death of Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth. The marriage of the Lancastrian Henry VII, and Princess Elizabeth, daughter of the Yorkist Edward IV, ended the two sides dispute.
