CHEERS One of America's greatest sitcoms, 'Cheers' was created by James Burrows, Glen Charles, and Les Charles. It ran for 11 seasons, and was broadcast by NBC from September 30th, 1982 to May 20th, 1993, with 273 episodes episodes in all. The final episode created a new record for the highest viewing figures for a TV show in the U.S. A half hour comedy set in a Boston bar, 'Cheers' mainly revolved around barman Sam Malone (Ted Danson) and his love life, particularly humorous being the vicarious reactions of Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger) and Norm Peterson (George Wendt). All the characters were strong, and the character of Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) became the central figure in the massively successful spin-off, 'Frasier'. - Paul Rance/booksmusicfilmstv.com.
