OPEN ALL HOURS (Original Series)
'Open All Hours' was an engaging Roy Clarke comedy, with Ronnie Barker's stuttering shopkeeper Arkwright, innocent David Jason's Granville, and Lynda Baron's voluptuous, worldly-wise Nurse Gladys Emmanuel making up a lovable and eccentric triumvirate of characters. After a slow start (the pilot episode was in 1973), it ran for four series, on and off, between 1976 and 1985, to become one of British sitcom's most understated, and most unlikely, hit shows.
In 2013 the BBC broadcasted an updated version of 'Open All Hours', which featured original cast members David Jason, Lynda Baron and Stephanie Cole.
