MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE TV SERIES

The original 'Mission: Impossible' espionage series ran on American TV from 1966 to 1973 in the US, and spawned the Tom Cruise movies, which began in the 1990s. A stellar cast included Leonard Nimoy, Peter Graves, Barbara Bain, and Martin Landau.

'Mission: Impossible' was created by Bruce Geller, who originally produced the series. There were seven seasons in all, and a massive 171 episodes. The first episode was broadcast on September 17th, 1966 by CBS (9 days after the first episode of 'Star Trek' on NBC, and 8 days after the first episode of 'The Time Tunnel' on ABC), and the series ended on March 30th, 1973.
