Vincent Price

Vincent Price (1911-1993)
The most popular American actor in the horror genre, Vincent Price was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and was a bright kiddie, being at Yale University.

Price's acting career began in London on the stage, and his film career began in the late 1930s. He appeared in notable films 'The Song Of Bernadette (1943)', 'Laura (1944)', and 'Dragonwyck (1946)', but it was as museum owner Professor Henry Jarrod in 'House Of Wax (1953)' that saw Price go on to make his name in horror movies. Among these were 'The Fly (1958)', several Edgar Allan Poe-based films in the early to mid 1960s (directed by Roger Corman), 'The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)', and 'Theatre Of Blood (1973)'.

Always good fun, Vincent Price loved to ham it up, and remains one of cinema's best loved stars.
