My Way (Fanzine)

My Way No. 13

Massive 60-page (full A4) 'zine. Right up there with Electronic Cottage and Factsheet Five as numero uno. Also includes a free tape of Bananabeat and Converse (reviewed below). In the 'zine, Spacemen 3, The Planets, Jay Kay and Marilyn's Army are interviewed and contributors include Matthias Lang, Lord Litter and Claus Korn. Also some cartoons by Sack - interesting! My Way is virtually all in German, but for contacts alone, it is cheap at the price, believe me, let alone a quality tape thrown in as well.

Tape...

Excellent stuff. Firstly, there's three very diverse tracks by Bananaboat Jumpers, from reggae to ska to punky samba. This band are highly proficient, with the lyrics of "80" particularly taking my ear. Converse, on side 2, start off with a heavy number, including synths - "All Day & Night", then "Soweto", an extravaganza, sweet guitar playing, catchy hooks, the lot.

My Way No.s 14 & 15

More massive issues with free tapes. 15 has a 5-band collection from German label, Endless Soul, including two beauts from Fear Is Man's Best Friend and Grave Kelly. 14 has a powerful live tape from United Underworld, and, in its pages, an i/view with Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and 4-page Sack cartoon. 15 has a Pixies feature, Rose of Avalanche i/view and mega review section. Mostly in German, but a mine of info, with other goodies. Germany is buzzin'. My Way would like to hear from British bands.
