Dope on Pnuk part 17
11 tracks on a DIY CD from
Peterborough's active punk band and powerhouse behind the city's
regular punk nights. Five piece band who list their influences as
The Business, Sham 69, Cockney Rejects, The Ruts and The Specials.
Working-class, street-punk is a label they'd wear with pride.
Their targets in the songs are hypocritical coppers, sell-out
punks, chavs, talent(less) show acts, substance abuse (beer as
well as drugs), and the downward spiral of football, with the
rise of money as motivation.
Slick production gives this is a professionalism beyond the
average garage recording. Not a perfect record (couple of tracks
I weren't so keen on, but hey, that's just a personal thing), but
with the right wind behind them they could go far.
