Presenting Ten Things You Didn't Know About Alfred Hitchcock By Danielle Olivia Tefft

Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980)
Alfred Hitchcock was probably the greatest director of mystery and suspense movies of them all. English-born, his greatest films included 'The Thirty-Nine Steps (1935)', 'The Lady Vanishes (1938)', 'Rear Window (1954)', 'Vertigo (1958)', 'North By Northwest (1959)', 'Psycho (1960)', and 'The Birds (1963)'.

Hitchcock was a director who seemed to take a sadistic delight in toying with his audience. Derided by some as a maker of films with cheap thrills, Alfred Hitchcock's overall standing with critics and the public alike remains high. Hitchcock also knew the importance of a handsome leading man and pretty blonde - in terms of pulling in the crowds.
