THE BIRDS The birds have had enough, and they're ganging up on the human race - at least part of it. Great acting from the birds themselves, and the humans aren't bad - Tippi Hedren, Rod Taylor, et al. Arguably Alfred Hitchcock's last great film. Notably, Hitchcock was never known for treating his stars with kid gloves, and Ms. Hedren really did get a severe pecking. Based on a story by Daphne du Maurier, 'The Birds' could be seen as a warning to humanity. Keep destroying Mother Earth and its inhabitants, and face dire consequences! A story for now, really. - Paul Rance/booksmusicfilmstv.com. |
