RICHIE HAVENS CDs available from Peace & Freedom Press - in association with Amazon.com

Richie Havens is a black New Yorker, whose biggest claim to fame was opening the legendary Woodstock Festival in 1969. Coming out of the same Greenwich folk scene as Joan Baez and Bob Dylan, Havens has never thought of material wealth as the key to happiness, and his lively and intense guitar playing and singing shows an integrity and humanity which is wonderful.
