VOLTAIRE - CANDIDE

A philosophical novel may be an unlikely bestseller, but this Voltaire classic is a fun read, so it's no surprise it's sold so well since its first publication in 1759.

Candide certainly gets around, and is a figure we can warm to, ditto his optimistic friend, Dr. Pangloss.

There is a Pythonesque feel to Candide's adventures, but you can certainly learn a lot from them!
