FRANZ KAFKA - THE TRIAL

'The Trial' has hints of George Orwell's '1984', though Kafka's novel was published first. The story of Joseph K., and his treatment by sinister members of a paranoid establishment, is certainly the stuff of nightmares.

As interesting as Kafka's story is, the somewhat daunting long paragraphs throughout the novel proved that this brilliant writer was prepared to stretch the boundaries of modern writing - in more ways than one.
