DOCTOR WHO, SERIES 3 EPISODE 10 - BLINK
First screened, Saturday, 9th June, 2007
on BBC One

'Blink' is an episode dominated by the lovely Sally Sparrow (Carey Mulligan) and creepy statues, with the Doctor and Martha not appearing too often, and being stuck in 1969.

Things begin mysteriously, when a young woman (the aforementioned Sally Sparrow) starts pulling back wallpaper in an old house, and words begin to be revealed - "Beware", "Duck!", then her own name, followed by "Duck Now!", which she does, as a rock goes flying by. She peels off a final piece of wallpaper, which says "Love from the Doctor (1969)". Sally also sees a Weeping Angel statue, from the direction of where the rock had come from.

Things get even stranger, when Sally goes to friend Kathy Nightingale's home (Sparrow and Nightingale, geddit?), and sees the Doctor come up on multiple TV screens, and hear him warning: "Don't look away, and don't blink. Blink and you're dead." In a mind-twisting plot, Kathy is transported back to 1920, the Angels become more menacing, and the Doctor and Martha, it turns out, are back in the past because of the Weeping Angels. Amidst the time travelling we get to see some poignant moments with a young and then old Billy Shipton.

An enjoyable enough episode, with a dry ending, but my head still hurts from working it all out, or at least trying to!
