'The Angry Silence DVD' The Angry Silence

The Angry Silence

Richard Attenborough plays Tom Curtis, in this noble British film about intolerance.

Curtis is persecuted by his fellow workers, when he refuses to join their unofficial strike, and even the bosses are wary of him.

'The Angry Silence' is not a film about bashing unions, but one about how a lack of reason can envelop a cause - however just.

Attenborough, Michael Craig (who also co-wrote the story), as Tom's one steadfast friend, and Pier Angeli, as Tom's fragile wife, head the strong performances in this important movie. Bryan Forbes also won an Oscar nomination for the screenplay.
