WHEN THE WIND BLOWS
(1987)

Fantastic, poignant British animation film, about an elderly couple obliviously meeting their doom in a nuclear holocaust. Naively believing they'll be all right if they follow the instructions of 'a what to do when under nuclear attack' Government manual.

Superb, understated performances by John Mills and Peggy Ashcroft, in an adaptation of a Raymond Briggs novel. He also wrote the script.

Directed by Jimmy Murakami, with music by Roger Waters of Pink Floyd.
