WHERE EAGLES DARE Superior WWII movie, based on the Alistair MacLean novel, who also wrote the script. Directed by Brian G. Hutton, this British film has a strong cast, including Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood, Mary Ure, Patrick Wymark, Michael Hordern, Ingrid Pitt, Donald Huston, Peter Barkworth, and Robert Beatty. This movie has some some delicious twists, nice interplay between acting heavyweights Burton & Eastwood, and the bad guys get a hammering. Early examples of girl power from Ms. Ure & Ms. Pitt. It's 155 minutes long, but remains interesting all the way through. Inspiring music from Ron Goodwin. - Paul Rance/booksmusicfilmstv.com. |
